Welcome to the concluding part of this teaching we commenced a week ago on spiritual authority. I pray that at the end of this teaching, we as believers will have sufficient knowledge via understanding to know what authority has been vested upon us which will eventually allow us access to our right and privileges as a child of God. To have a proper understanding of this teaching I would encourage you to get the earlier edition published last week.
A judge who is ignorant of its authority may not be able to deliver judgment as at when due. He may fret and think, what if what I say is not upheld. However, a proper understanding of his position enables him to act properly. As a child of God if you don’t have a proper understanding of your position, you can be sure it will rub you off many benefits that may come your way.
Understanding of your position in term of authority makes a whole lot of difference in the journey of life. As far as heaven is concerned, as soon as you born again, living an upright, holy life, you are entitled to exercise spiritual authority.
You have power vested on you from above. Jesus said in mark 16:17 “And these signs will follow those who believe; in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpent; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; They will lay hands on the sickand they will recover; What a great all encompassing authority vested on us. So great an authority that all that is written therein are regarded as signs, just
sign that will follow them that believe. As long as you are a believer it must be a sign that will follow you. These signs are not only for Pastors, Apostles, bishops, Deacons to mention but a few; but all believers who have been washed by the precious Blood of Jesus.
This authority is not earned, it is not as a result of your giving of tithe or offering or any other things you may think qualifies you to have it, it is a free gift to all that are born–again. Presently, Jesus does not need the authority where he is seated at the right hand of God in heaven. He knows that it is here on earth that such authority is needed to be able to put the devil where he rightful belongs- under our feet.
Jesus has spoiled principality and power and made a public show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. He said it is finished. Beloved, Jesus did not take the authority away when he was going to the father in heaven, but He delivered it to the church here on earth, so that you and I can have absolute dominion and be fully in charge of whatever situations we find ourselves.
Jesus said greater work than He did shall we do, because I go to my father in heaven. Jesus was not exaggerating, He meant what He said. We indeed have authority over sicknesses, diseases, demons and even the devil. Jesus actually paid the price for this; all we need to do is to stay closely fitted to Him in our position, where we are seated with Christ in heavenly places far above principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. You will lay your hand on the sick, and they shall recover, you are the person to lay hands on the sick and not you being
laid hands on. It is wrong for sickness to reside or dwell in your body except you permit it to be. All and every sign of Egypt-the land of Bondage is not to be within you for you are a Covenant child.
Friends you truly have authority over nature and the creeping things that creep on the earth. The challenge we have is that, most of the time we leave things to chances thinking if God wants it He will do it and if not He will not. No! No!! No!!! You are to be in charge, you shall decree a thing on earth and it shall be established even in heaven. You have the authority to speak to the air, land and the grave and they cannot resist or contradict what you say as long as it does not contradict the written Word of God. You are to be fully in charge.
Jesus will not come and cast out that sickness from you neither will he come and cast out that devil from you or that friend of yours. You are to give the command and as you say it, you will see it. You are vested with so much power that your word cannot be resisted not even by the devil himself for at the name of Jesus every knell should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord to the Glory of the father.
You have stayed long enough on this mountain of ignorance enough is enough, it is time to exercise your spiritual authority and be fully in charge. Enough of spiritual chaos, its time to take full charge. That power vested on you is not for fun, it is to be exercised. Friend you may perhaps not be empowered in other areas be it military to give instruction to uniformed personnel, governance etc, but as for spiritual authority over situations and circumstances, I announce to you today that you have vested authority from above, so therefore walk in the revelation of it.
