An axe is an instrument used in cutting wood or hard surface object into smaller pieces suitable for use. Axe in the ancient days were used also as weapon of war in fighting the enemy. It can either be used for destructive or constructive purpose depending on use at hand. The effectiveness of every axe is dependent on the material for which it is made of and the sharpness of the axe. When the material, which, the axe is made up of, is good then we have to consider the sharpness for its full effectiveness.

When the axe is not sharp then much effort is applied to make it work however, when the axe is sharp, little effort is applied and things are achieved without any wound being inflicted on the palms. Beloved, when the axe is not sharp much energy is expended and little result is achieved. Please note that you are the Lords axe to achieve the seemingly impossible.

Jer. 51:20-23 reads; you are my battle axe and weapons of war: for with you I will break the nation in pieces; with you I will destroy kingdoms; with you I will break in pieces the chariot and its riders; with you also I will break in pieces man and woman; with you I will break in pieces the young man and the maiden with you also I will break the shepherd and his flock; with you I will break in pieces the farmer and his yoke of oxen; and with you I will break in pieces governors and rulers.

This is a direct word from the Most High to you. God intends to achieve all these through you because you are His battle-axe. Yes it is you God is talking of, not the man next to you neither is He talking of your pastor. He intends to break man and woman, young and old, nations and kingdoms, the chariot and it’s riders, shepherd and its flock, farmer and oxen’s, even governors and rulers. Don’t behave or think like Gideon that was referred to as a mighty man of valor but gave a long list of reasons why God cannot refer to Him as such. You are indeed the weapon of war that God relies upon to use in this last days. No other person but you. You are the very candidate.

Just like the physical axe, I have come to realize that many axe in the hand of God have become so blunt and not effective to cut down, throw down and destroy. Some are even rusty due to the fact that they have not made themselves available for the master’s use. They have already become blunt. One could see evidently that the axe has been used very well in time past but alas, has been laid aside due to one reason or the other.

Dear reader, hope you are not the one that is being spoken of as being laid aside, if you fit in please stop now, meditate and reflect back to where you got it wrong and trace back your steps back on rail. God still desires you to accomplish that great feat. He showed you in pictorial form within you mind; but you just must start from somewhere start from the little you find to do now and you will be amazed as He takes you to greater height to be used.

For you to be effective in His hands, then you have the responsibility to make yourself sharp. God in His infinite mercy has provided everything necessary to make you sharp for His use. He has provided his word with lots of principles of what to do. He has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth but quite unfortunately, we refuse to rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us, many times when He speaks to us we do not even listen to Him. His word which is a guiding light to us most times we neglect, that is why many times, we fall for diverse trials and temptation
because we lack the stamina or inner strength to withstand.

Jude 20 reads that building yourself in the most Holy Faith praying in the Spirit (other tongues). Whenever you pray in the spirit you set your spiritual battery on and it becomes charged ready to transmit current. You become well charged and sharpened in God’s hand. It’s like a lubricant to the move of the Spirit. It makes things to flow and work well in the spirit without stress or struggle. Beloveds you have to sharpen the axe so that with little effort you get
work done. When the axe is not sharp then you spend hours casting out devils, laying hands on the sick but the recovery process delays not because the power to heal is not flowing from above but because the conductor, the vessel or axe that is conveying the healing anointing is not sharp. This is a call to us all to please sharpen the axe for the master’s use. Shalom!
