We live in a world that is dynamic and fast changing. A world when the day is loaded with so much activities and duties that cannot be exhausted within its hours. Given 28 hours per day one is almost sure that the numbers of additional hours not withstanding may not still be sufficient to discharge these various duties. Each day however carries 24 hours out of which the day is utilized for work while the night is noted for sleep.

Jesus said in John 11:9-10; “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. “But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him”.

Simply put, the day is to walk while the night is to sleep and rest. This may apply very well to the secular world we live in but in the spirit world, the night is the time when we use to settle every form of differences we may have in our lives. Jesus said I must do the work of Him who sent me while it is day for the night cometh when no man can work. Since the night is not so suitable to work then we, as believers must be like Jesus who used the night to sought major issues on the mountaintop before the breaking of the day. Jesus utilized the night so much that it affected His work rate during the day. No wonder wherever He went to He was doing good, healing the sin, raising the dead, making the blind see, the lame to walk, the dumb to speak etc The night is a very important moment in the life of every child of God, which must be maximized.

The scripture recalls that while men slept the enemy came and planted tares among the wheat. Tares were grown in the night while men slept. The devil knows the importance of the night most especially when it’s dark; he thus tries to mystify it. The bible say, you are the light of the world, we as believers must lithe the world. We must be resolute in all that we do to get the desired result.

Is there any problem that seems quite difficult to solve, then utilize the night to solve it. Are you trusting God for deliverance, a job or a child, then utilize the night. The devil strive to strengthen it’s self by dwelling in the secret places, and in the dark places and it is time we take the battle to him there, take the battle to him in the night where he thinks he has the upper hand. The devil has lost forever both in the day and in the night however we must
enforce our victory over him always.

Acts 12 recalls the story of Peter’s deliverance. James had just being killed with the sword and when Herod saw that this pleased the Jews, he went further to take Peter, intending to bring him before the people after Passover. However constant prayer was made by the church both day and night for Peter.

Act 12: 6b-7 reads, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.

Beloved, no matter how securely the enemy might have held you or your loved ones, you can be delivered, just take the battle to the enemy’s camp in the night, and you will see how the chains will fall off as wax before the fire. Please read Acts 12:5-16 for the full story. Peter was delivered, he thought he was dreaming, even the brethren interceding
for him were still praying in the night when they heard Peter was outside the gate, they could not believe it. How effective night prayers could be. Peter was set free.

Paul and Silas in Acts 16 were also held in prison, but verse 25-26 reads “”But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prisons were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and every one’s chains were loosed. Did you read that, at mid-night. Friend, you have slept long enough, it is time to keep vigils, it is time to maximize the nights. You cannot be in that negative position thinking it was brought about by God, no, its
time to effect the change. It’s time to stay awake. Don’t just read this without doing something about it, it is time to stay awake and possess you victory. Maximize the night.

The children of Israel received their total victory in the night

Exo. 12:29 reads “And it came to pass at midnight that the Lord struck all the Firstborn in the Land… verse 31 reads then he (Pharaoh) called for Moses and Aaron by night and said, “Rise and go out from among my people both you and the children of Israel, And go, serve the Lord as you have said. The same Pharaoh who refused them before called them and said, “go out”.

Their deliverance came in the night and that same night, they all left Egypt with their cattle and livestock. They indeed maximized the night. Friends your excuse of being tired from the day’s work will not hold water. It is time to arise from the comfort of your bed and fight it through ones and for all. You are too precious to God to be in that position. Good things are released when we pray in the day but choice things are given in the night. Please maximize
the night – Shalom.
